Preschool Application Entry 2026

APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION TO THE PRESCHOOL

Thank you for your interest in the Brooklyn Heights Synagogue Preschool.
We look forward to getting to know you and your child.

FALL 2026 ENTRY

The admissions process includes:

  • APPLY: Completing this General Admissions Application by Monday, December 15th, 2025 (see below for later applications)
  • TOUR: Learning more about our school through a tour with the Preschool Director
  • PLAY: A small group in-person play observation so that we can see your child at play and get a chance to speak with you. (Your play visit cannot be scheduled until an application is received.)
  • APPLYING AFTER MONDAY, DECEMBER 15th: if you miss the deadline, please apply and we will make every effort to complete your process by scheduling a tour and play visit. Tours may be scheduled by reservation, however we cannot schedule a play visit until your application is received.
Children must turn 2 to be eligible to be dropped off at BHSP.  With sufficient interest we run a two-morning "late fall start" class for those who turn 2 by October 31st. We also invite you to consider Boker Twos (a partial separation class that meets twice a week for children aged 18-26 months).

If you have questions about our admissions process, please call (718) 522-2070 X136  or email pam@bhsbrooklyn.org .

Late applications will always be accepted and processed in the order in which they are received. However, after March 6, 2026, you are encouraged, to call the school at (718) 522-2070 X136 to learn if there are any remaining openings before submitting an application. In all cases, you will need to complete a play visit and tour in order for placement to be considered.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

We are delighted that you are applying to the Brooklyn Heights Synagogue Preschool. Because it is so important that a parent be confident a preschool is a good fit for their child, we require that parents learn about our school and programming on a tour, and schedule a play observation. We will send information about scheduling your tour if you have not yet had one.

Once you have submitted an application and had a tour, we will schedule a small group play observation for you and your child. Both parents are encouraged to attend if it is possible since this is also an opportunity for you to ask questions.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN OUR PROGRAM!

The Brooklyn Heights Synagogue Preschool does not discriminate on the basis of religion, race, color, national or ethnic origin, or sexual orientation in its admissions, policies, or educational programs. All acceptances will be in writing; registration is considered complete upon signing and returning enrollment contract and nonrefundable deposit. BHS Preschool is requiring COVID vaccination for students in the 2026-27 school year.
